Forgiv my bad english

1. You can use attrbite points, you can higher you skills with it. for example; if you have 6 points at death magic, you can wield a weapon that requires 6 death magic, so you do more damage.

2. You can salvage or sell the items you get to a merchant, i prefer salvage, you'll get resources for it, like wood, iron ignots etc. you can use the resources for armor and you can sell resources also good.

3. In Ascalon City their is someone called "Xunlai Agent Storage" thats your bank, you'll need to pay him 50gold to open the storage.

If you're still in pre-searing, you're probably still okay. But I'd recommend keeping an eye out for something that does more damage than what you started with.

Most of the stuff you get isn't worth keeping. You can either sell it to merchants or salvage it for crafting materials (you need to get a salvage kit for this). Note that you should save any dye until you get to post-searing (in particular, DO NOT sell silver or black dye to the players who keep offering to buy dyes for 100 gold or so - last I bothered to check, black sold for 8k from the dye trader, so you can probably get about 7k selling direct to a player). Also, any unidentified items should be ID'd before you sell them (you can get ID and salvage kits from any merchant).

Once you cross over to post-searing (by entering the academy), you can get a storage account, which is shared between all characters on your account. It costs 50 gold for each character. This is not available in pre-searing (where you are when you first start).

Hope all this helps a bit.

when you finish that primary quest in your quest log the guy will tell you something about never being able to go back --- that's when you actually cross over into the game (postsear).
right now you're probably in presear, which is like a little training area.

if you id stuff and it's nothing you can use, you can either sell it cheap, or salvage it w/the salvage kit into crafting materials which stack (!!).
once you cross into post sear, you can either dump them in your storage unit (which is accessible throughout the land), sell them to crafting material merchants, sell them to other players through the town chat, or actually use a few of them for better armor.
check out the necro armor in that link to figure out which ones you can use.

right now, I'm thinking wood might be going for around 10g/plank in town chat, and iron maybe 15.
I've never seen much demand for granite slabs.

oh, ps

once in postsear you can buy 2 bags w/5 spaces each, that can be doubled in size.
